Job Title: Applications Engineer

Reports To: Vice President Sales

SUMMARY: Solitron is seeking an experienced, Applications Engineer to support our new product initiatives in high power devices which includes silicon and silicon carbide MOSFET, diode, transistor, integrated module and gate driver solutions. A successful candidate will have strong experience supporting customers with technical product specifications, product selection, system design, schematic review, prototyping and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customer design engineers to successfully incorporate Solitron power semiconductors in their products. Answer technical inquiries from existing and prospective customers with proper documentation and timely feedback/analysis.
  • Design and testnew product evaluation and demonstration boards
  • Develop data sheets and application notes
  • Provide market feed back to the company with consolidated customer requirements to define new products and product enhancements
  • Customer presentations, seminars, and product demonstrations
  • Competitive benchmarking of SiC, GaN and Silicon power devices
  • Technical Articles

Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering degree preferred
  • Proficient in soldering, electrical testing, circuit debugging, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to review schematics and provide support to customer designs activity
  • Lab skills in using oscilloscopes, function generators and network analyzers for the test and debug 
  • Prepare technical elements of proposals and presentations

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Silicon Carbide (SiC) power devices, power electronics
  • Experience with wide-band-gap power semiconductor testing (Silicon Carbide)
  • Knowledge in power conversion topologies, power devices and control loop designs

Job Title: Assembly Operator

Reports To: Director of Operations

SUMMARY: The Assembly Operator performs all elements of assembly of semiconductor microcircuits. This position is non-exempt.

Responsibilities:

  • Mount semiconductor elements using various specified techniques as indicated in detailed procedures and specification sheets.
  • Perform wire attach in semiconductor assembly using various methods and materials as specified in detailed procedures and specification sheets
  • PIND and hybrid assembly cleaning
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely mounting of microcircuit elements as specified
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely assembly of components at the wire bond operation
  • Performs other duties as required by the Director of Manufacturing and/or Engineer departments for process improvement
  • Must have very good hand and finger dexterity to handle basic tools, handle small parts, and work from schematics and sketches, and use of precise equipment
  • Operate equipment in performing alignment, etch, deposition, and diffusion
  • Comfortable with use of microscope
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow verbal and written instructions and sign off completed paperwork
  • Interact with all levels of employees to increase output and reduce waste
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand/sit up to 8 hours per day

Education/Training:

  • High School Degree (or GED)
  • US Citizenship/Permanent US Residency

Experience in an electronic manufacturing assembly a plus.


Job Title: Electronics Technician

Reports To: Test Supervisor

SUMMARY: The Electronics Technician is a blended role that incorporates environmental testing together with electrical testing. The primary focus will be to test parts, maintain repairs, troubleshoot, modify and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices as directed by the Test Supervisor and/or Environmental Supervisor or related department management. This is a non-exempt position.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all operations necessary for the testing of the product.
  • Perform Laser trim.
  • Install electrical and electronic parts and hardware in housing or assemblies, using soldering equipment, hand and power tools.
  • Layout, build, test troubleshoot, repair, rework and modify production’s electronic components, parts, and equipment; adjust, align, and modify circuitry and components.
  • Assemble and test electrical equipment and components according to electrical principles.
  • Load and unload burn-in racks, H.T.R.B. boards; maintain and perform continuity verification of burn-in plates and boards.
  • Maintain logs and records; complete lot traveler and paperwork.
  • Perform Group B&C testing and inspection on vibration variable frequency, salt atmosphere, moisture resistance, and mechanical shock.
  • Provide technical support to the quality inspection process.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Detailed oriented and problem solver.
  • Ability to lift objects to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 6 hours.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, reach, push, and pull as needed.
  • Exhibit strong communication and organizational skills to execute responsibilities and assignment prioritization

Education/Training:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent in technical experience
  • Experience in an electronic manufacturing environment and equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
